Inspired by architecture

Material honesty

Drawing inspiration from brutalism in architecture, the focus is on the material itself: unadulterated, visible, without decorative cladding or paint. Construction and function are not concealed, but laid bare. The aluminium frame reveals its materiality – much like the exposed concrete structure of a building.

Everything integrated.

Powered by Mahle X35. A lightweight hub motor, a battery concealed in the down tube and just one button on the top tube for control – every e-bike component is perfectly integrated into the characteristic Schindelhauer design. With the app for iOS and Android, you can always keep an eye on additional driving data. Even without electric assistance, Emilia rides as agile as a bicycle.

The reliable and super-light 250W rear hub motor from MAHLE is barely noticeable and provides noticeable thrust with up to 40 Nm.

Depending on your preferred support level, the integrated 250Wh-battery will let you travel between 50 and 80 km. A full charge takes about 3 hours. In case of service, the battery can be removed.

Gates Belt Drive

Since day one, Schindelhauer has been using the superior belt drive from Gates, which consists of embedded carbon fibres. All bikes are specially designed for the belt drive in order to take advantage of all the benefits.

Zero maintenance

Oiling, greasing and rusting are a thing of the past.

Highly efficient

With a higher wattage, the efficiency is higher compared to the chain.

Long life span

The Gates Belt Drive lasts about 3-4 times longer than a chain.

Stay clean

Due to the lack of oil, it keeps your trousers away from dirt.

Super quiet

No chain - No more chain running noises.

Lightweight

The Gates Belt Drive weighs 20% less than a classic chain.

Top class gearbox.

Completely agile and flexible on the road. Emilia is equipped with a Pinion gear unit. The top class among bicycle gears was developed by former Porsche engineers and impresses with its special durability, reliability and precision. Thanks to its positioning, an optimal centre of gravity is ensured.

The casing of the C-Line is made of an ultra-light magnesium alloy and has a resistant powder coating on the outside. 9 gears allow for a spread of 568%.

Whether single consecutive gears or entire jumps, you always get direct feedback and thus a secure feeling when shifting. It doesn't matter whether you are standing at the traffic lights or driving - ideal in stop-and-go traffic.

Relaxed in everyday life.

Consistent with practicability and design. The newly developed Schindelhauer frame geometry with longer head tube and shorter stem ensures a comfortable riding position with Emilia. Even cobblestone paths become a new favourite shortcut with the large-volume tyres. Larger loads can be transported safely with the frame-mounted front rack and clever tensioning strap system.

Our main goals when developing the geometry for Emilia were to provide enough clearance for the large-volume tyres, sufficient loading height for the front rack and a relaxed riding position. We incorporated a low bottom bracket and long head tube into the design to fully achieve all three aims.

Due to the mounting on the frame, the steering behaviour remains agile even with larger loads. An integral part of the carrier concept are the innovative tensioning straps (VarioStraps), which can be individually adapted to the size and shape of the load.
